He began by creating metal crosses for the graves in the Croix des Bouquets cemetery, and was later encouraged by American teacher, DeWitt Peters, to expand the art form and begin creating decorative metal sculptures. Eventually, Liautaud took on a few male apprentices, and today, hundreds of men have continued with the craft. Creating oil drum art brings a steady
