The stone rests in an attractive 8 point star mount, and, as well as being an incredibly cool and versatile piece of jewellery, it's a fully functional safety pin. Possible uses: brooch, pendant, hat tie scarf pin, charm holder, hold cloth nappy together. The safety pin was invented by Walter Hunt of New York in 1849 this one
